Snakes

I found a smallish black snake Saturday, living under a pile of wood my
termite inspector suggested I move. Snake got moved to a new pile of wood;
wasn't really happy. Hope he sticks around in his new place. Last year, I
watched two robins chase a big black snake away--they really had the
advantage because he got caught in the open and couldn't find a place to
hide. One bird would distract the snake, and the other would fly in and
peck him on his back. Felt sorry for the snake, almost.
Unfortunately, all my neighbors are snake killers and I don't know how to
convince the snakes that they should just stay on my side of the fence.
