Firstly I would like to commiserate about Lily beetle, this has become
prevalent in southern england about 5 years ago, and i started picking this
years crop about 4 weeks ago and inspect weekly, there is a spray come on the
market that up to last year was just for vine weevil which here is called
'provado' unfortunately my lilies are near a pond so i haven't chanced it.
They have got to be the most disgusting pest ever. I have noticed that there
are more evident on the green foliage plants, than the ones with the darker
reddish foliage.
Seperately, on passing my 50th birthday last week my son surprised me with a
trip to Le Courson plant sale, and Monet's garden In Giverny this weekend and
wondered if other 'listers' have any advice (Chantel comes to mind) apart
from taking lots of money (or monet).
This sort of makes up for missing out on the trip to Gene's garden that I
know from his contributions that I would love, you find yourself drawn to
different plants over the years, and then suddenly you find there is a common
theme, like ferny foliage, variegation, or in my case woodland plants. So
Gene have a great time wish I could be there, even the food at the local
sounds good, one of my other weakness's. I promise I wouldn't bring my
camera!
