I second that. I just bought three of these myself...
If you're looking for more interesting combinations, you could try growing
the cultivar 'Rosea' in with the straight species -- it has lighter colored
flowers that contrast nicely.
There are also a couple of variegated forms that come to mind. 'Brookside
Variegated' is one that has splashes of pink and gold, while 'Variegata'
just has white.
Akebia trifoliata is a cute complement to the A. quinata clan, differing
only in its darker flowers and three-parted leaves. There are some

Most of these are available through Forest Farm ( www.forestfarm.com ).
They also carry Akebia x pentaphylla which has piqued my interest... It
may be the next one to join their happy little family in that corner of
the yard.
