Its a no no to burn it too...if you reach to it you can breath in the toxin
into you lungs.
Its one of those chemicals that over time have a greater effect on you as you
come into more contact with it. As a kid I could play with the plants and it
did not bother me-but its getting its revenge now. Be happy that you still
do not reach to it, the oil gets on your shoes and for weeks you can
"reinfect" your self. One year I scratched off the skin from the shins of my
legs. I rue the day I have to move my bloodroots, they are growing in the
poison ivy patch.
