Hello again Cheryl,
There was not room enough to go into more that one plant for each month,
or really get into a particular group of species or cultivars. Right now the
serrated skullcap is coming into bloom. Only gets to be about 12 inches in
height, serrated leaves, sometimes bordered in burnished red. Blooms are
sky-blue to lavender-blue. Downy skullcap gets about 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet in
height, vase shaped in outline. Will not bloom until summer and early fall.
There are quite a few species of native skullcaps to play with in the
garden. Just do not see them offered very often by nurseries.
(Nope, I do not have them now... sold out last fall)
