Gene's article was great. I won't do any woodland shade gardening for a
while - it will take me at least another year to rebuild the main feature of
my backyard - large double perennial border, totally neglected by the
previous owners. But I want to try Delphinium exaltatum - from Gene's
description and the companion plants he mentions I assume it should be OK in
the mostly sunny location. I found the local (MA) source for
it -Blanchette's (no, I don't work for them - that for people who remember
my previous message). I would love to try Spigelia marilandica and grow
trilliums again but it will have to wait.
How come nobody yet mentioned Missouri primrose as an invasive ornamental ?
I have whole big areas of the border completely covered .The plants are
easy to pull but these clumps seem to expand while you watch. Sophie, Z5B MA
