Isabel, I just noticed today that the self-seeding cleome are emerging, all
over the place, among the declining daffodil foliage--right where I want
them.
V. bonariensis has been almost a pest at times, but I love the plant and it's
great filler for arrangements too. It hasn't been too difficult to keep
unwanted seedlings pulled in the past. This year I haven't spotted a single
one. I guess I'm going to have to go buy a new plant. I bought a new lychnis
coronaria today, because none of its seedlings have emerged either. I think
dampness is probably the cause of both failures.
Blueprints for arks are hot sellers in SW Ohio these days.
