I used to have my bird feeder/suet station attached to a dining room window,
one story up from the ground. The creatures would climb the giant black
walnut tree, waltz across the branches to the rooftop and climb down the
brick wall to get to the feeder. The commotion we heard one night was Ma and
Baby possum on one side and masked bandit on the other--much flashing of
claws, hissing, teeth-showing, back arching, etc. Masked Bandit knew when he
was beaten and sulked back up the brick wall.
Don't get me started on the year Masked Bandit and her 6 babies took up
residence in the crawl space between the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms!
