Hi Walt:
I was just about to ask if anyone has a list of invasive perennials? Like
the Artemisa I didn't realize it would be this invasive. Is there a book or
list of these for gardeners? It would be especially great for the new
gardeners - who have to learn from experience and this list would sure save
them some heart break and some back breaking experiences. Even my phlox -
which I've let go to seed too many years are becoming a pain. I need to cut
them back after flowering so they don't send their seeds all over my garden.
Although, some places they come up are really nice.
I'm going to contain this purple plant which I put in last year. It is
spreading too, but not as much as Artemisa. Also have another plant I have
in my new bed - I think it is obedient plant (?) which is spreading very
quickly. I had better do more research on new plants I think look good in
the nursery. My sweet annie (herb) has become invasive as I didn't get a
chance to cut them back even though they are annuals and also my fennel
(which I love the main plant) as it is very large and gives an airy effect
in the garden. But don't let it go to seed. My Blood Sorrel came back
nicely and seems to be contained into a nice round plant.
Time to go and get the grandkids up for school.
