Clematis and salvia

Corinne, I always use ajuga (especially the Chocolate Chip ajuga) to
shade the clematis roots and mark the location. That way it's a
perennial too.

Also: to Chris Lindsey
Hi Chris,
Great pic of salvia guaranitica on your Web site. I had one last
summer from Prairie Gardens and I loved it .... but it seems to have
been strictly annual here and now PG doesn't have it this year. Any idea
where I can get one locally?
Thanks,
Susan (who's just returned from a mad plant-buying trip to the Flower
Factory in Wisconsin and has lots of planting to do!)

Subject: Base of Clematis, please

What are the best perennials to plant at the base of Clematis?

What do you think of Pelegoniums as a choice?

Thank you,
