RE: Ranunculus ficaria 'Brazen Hussy'

Hi Marilyn and thanks Don for the link to the pic (I think),

The name Ranunculus is enough to send me into convulsions even thinking about planting one in the garden. This is for sure a polite seeder not something I would introduce and curse about for years afterward? Or one that gets loose and the town I live in lynching me for the Brazen destruction of local wetlands and native habitat?

I certainly am impressed with the leaves, but dare I even think about this one for my PNW garden?

Don,
Yes Brazen Hussy does retain its deep purple/black leaf color the entire
season here in zone 8. You may notice a difference in your hotter, more
humid climate. I have been growing it 3or 4 years. It is planted with
Lysimachia ' Gold Coin' and I love the way the 2 look together. My Hussy
self sows into the Creeping Jenny quite nicely plus a few random plants
scattered in the same flower bed. I dig my extras for the nursery as the
seedlings look just like the parent. Otherwise, you will have a few to give
away every spring.

I have question for those growing Ranunculus ficaria 'Brazen Hussy'.
Do the leaves retain their deep color for the entire season. How
rampant a spreader is it? I love my little second year plant but...
