RE: Ranunculus ficaria 'Brazen Hussy'

Debbie,
I understand why you are nervous. I used to have the wild Ranunculus, i.e.
"Buttercups" in and around my raspberry patch. It took me years to
eradicate them.
I can't make any promises - can only share what Brazen Hussy has done in my
own garden. Try growing it in a pot to see how it behaves for a year or
two. That's usually a pretty good indication of how it will perform in the
ground - and it's safe! By the by, mine is in part shade. Haven't tried
growing it in the sun.

Hi Marilyn and thanks Don for the link to the pic (I think),

The name Ranunculus is enough to send me into convulsions even thinking
about planting one in the garden. This is for sure a polite seeder not
something I would introduce and curse about for years afterward? Or one
that gets loose and the town I live in lynching me for the Brazen
destruction of local wetlands and native habitat?

I certainly am impressed with the leaves, but dare I even think about this
one for my PNW garden?

Debbie
