My favorite combo that's blooming now is my pink shrub rose 'Therese
Bugnet', foxgloves, and large purple allium. Another combo that happened
on the sly is another patch of the large purple allium ('purple
sensation'?) that has bright orange wallflowers around them. The
wallflowers have reseeded there and are eye-popping against the purple
globes.
I agree with the original poster on this subject: El Nino has produced an
unusual spring. We are cooler than normal here and the spring flowers have
lasted longer and the colors are deeper. We usually jump right from winter
into summer!
