Hi eveyone! Indulge me in a moment of bragging.
It's snail and slug time here in Southern California. Those pesky mollusks
get their little rasping mouths on every bit of living plant material they
can find. Which means that I spend many after-dark hours on 'snail
patrol.' Last night, I was fed up with the slimy goo the critters leave on
my fingers and feet (I squish 'em when I can), so I grabbed a plastic bag,
added a few shakes of salt and then got a tweezer from the bathroom. I
used the tweezer to grab the offenders, threw them into the bag and shook
them down into the salt. Hooray! Dead bad-guys! Clean hands! A night
to remember.....

So goes an old chinese proverb:
If you want to be happy for a few hours, get drunk;
If you want to be happy for a week-end get married;
If you want to be happy for a week, barbeque a pig;
If you want to be happy all your life long become a gardener
