Right David. I use alfalfa meal worked into the ground and my experience
has been very positive. One warning: use a _very light_application at
first to see how it works. I spread it at the recommended dose in my
shady bed and had to divide all the hostas and ferns in the Fall -- they
doubled in size! Roses seem to love it and the usual perennials also
had a growth spurt, though manageable.
