what are your ground conditions? Poppies do not like very wet soil.
I have grown them even in heavy clay soil, so the consistency of the soil is
probably not your problem.
How long have you grown poppies in that spot. Are they established, mature
plants/clumps?
What is your minimum evening temperature? What is your average daily high?
Have you fertilized or treated with fungicides, etc, recently?
please give a very detailed description of the plant's condition.
1. Leaf color and consistency (crisp, limp, wilted?)
2. any signs of parasites.
3. Dig around the plant for a depth of 2 to 3 inches, & tell me what you see.
please include not only the condition of the plant & root, but also the soil.
I am assuming that your blooming season is still due, rather than past. Remember
poppies die back after blooming & going to seed.
