Two years ago I was charged by the Ontario Prov. Police for digging/picking
wildflowers in the ditch. Told them I was removing purple loosestrife
flowers -a noxious weed. (A passer by had pulled over and told me to stop.
I said no and carried on. Obviously she called the OPP). Was charged with
theft, defacing public property, can't remember what else.
Went to court armed with all kinds of material (much of it from Kay L.) and
judge threw it out, slapping the hands of the OPP. This after it was put
over three times - (OPP were not ready to proceed). They tried that the 4th
time but I was ready for them and judge refused to set another date.
Not too often you get the better of the local gendarmes.
