I can't think of many purple plants for hot dry conditions, here's a couple of ideas:-
- Lobelia 'Russian Princess' has dark foliage and purple flowers but maybe a bit tall (up to about 2' I think)
- Plantago major 'Rubrifolia' lovely large dark red leaves in this variety of the rat tailed plantain (a common weed here!) ht about 12" max
- Purple sage has a good colour and would thrive in the conditions
I also grow a dark leaved marjoram too which would be good - if you want the name of this one let me know and I'll look it out.
