I don't like this lamb's ear nearly as much as the old-fashioned
Stachys byzantina. 

Stachys lanata tends to be much coarser (larger leaves), more aggressive,
less pubescent (so it's not as fuzzy), and taller (about 18").  Mine
don't seem to self-seed as prolifically, though.  The foliage is also
more gray-green than the silvery cast observed on Stachy byzantina.

So...  I think that it's a nice plant to have if you have the space, but
given it's texture and growth habits it's better viewed from afar.  In
close quarters, stick with the smaller relatives or something else
like Dusty Millers.
