I believe the effect of El Nino on this season must be more marked in
the northern portions of the country. While I do have those silly
asters and mums in bloom right now (triggered by the warm temps and
short day length?), most everything else in my area is just about on
schedule. In fact, I have a gardenia that sometimes has blooms on
Mother's day and it looks like it will be several more weeks before it
blooms. Weird...
