Dear Marilyn,
Our local University Extension Service is about as helpful as waiting for a
taxi in New York when it's raining. You can't even get them on the phone. As
for a "Master Gardener", I have been a "Master Gardener" for over 20 years,
diagnosing disease's is the worst possible because you dont' have a lab and
our Agriculture University is connected to our out of touch Extension Service.
I have finally come to the conclusion that I am going to have to remove the
soil before I replant any oriental poppies, what I still don't know is how to
self the seemingly steril poppies. Obviously, I can't take infected root
cuttings. Will the disease also be present in the seeds? Does anyone know?
Donna Adams.
