I seem to remember hearing that the bone meal available today is
practically useless for bulbs. Fifty years ago, one could buy bone meal
that had nutritional value for plants; today it is so denatured that while
it may change the texture of your soil by its presence, it does little
else. Does anyone else recognize this?
