Re: looking for french peony

I know I have seen your Peonia tenufolia in one of the catalogs--but
when I went to look back in my collection, I can't find it again! As I
remember it was in one of the glossies like Wayside (or Parks?) and the
darn thing was fairly expensive--$40 or more.

I was lucky enough to have two of these here when we bought the house 20
yrs. ago and I do love them. They bloom 2-3 weeks earlier that the
regular peonies and the red is really eye-catching--and they even bloom
well here in a half day of sun. The ferny foliage is attractive after
the flowers go by, too.

I suggest you look for peony nurseries on the net--or maybe someone
knows of a source near you in PA. Anyone else have sugestions?
I see that Thompson and Morgan have a "Special Border Mixture" of peony
seeds of the "best species" but don't mention tenufolia by name.

Good luck in finding it--well worth the price.
