Re: The Perennial Gardener
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Madison, WI PBS television station
has begun the Perennial Gardener series on Sunday evening at 5:30. Looks like an
interesting show and I intend to record it so I can take notes of plants at
leisure.
I like the color combinations and different plant forms Karen Strohbeen uses,
and especially the intermingling of low evergreens, bulbs, and annuals with the
perennials.
And, of course, I scurried to my catalogs to look at the white flowered betony
she used in front of the bed, and couldn't find it. Irking. I'm sure I've seen
it in catalogs of past years. Stachys officinalis 'Alba' is what Karen used.
And the Blue Oat grass looked great as well---must get to the nurseries.
