Tracie,
My caladiums bloomed last year as well, a large white calla-like bloom, which
isn't surprising, since they are from the same family. Mine are all pass
alongs, so I don't know the variety names, but it seemed that the larger
leafed varieties produced a bloom that was large and striking, but the
smaller varieties either did not bloom or the blooms were small and
insignificant, therefore I broke them off to conserve plant energy. Most
people do not allow theirs to bloom, as the foliage is the main attraction.
Removing the flower buds puts more energy into foliage growth. Let yours
bloom and see if you like it. If not, snip them off from now on.
