Hi Barb P. and Marge
Thank you both for the replies on the dreaded weeds. I now recognize and
possess them both. The chick weed I have already told you is breaking my
back in my large perennial bed and the creeping Charlie is the "crap"
that my bachelor neighbor doesn't spray and it tries to slime it's way
under the fence and infect my perennial's. Wed. is the day my husband
and I go to my mothers and mow her grass and plant or repair whatever
needs doing and then she treats us to lunch out. Today she and I worked
for quite a while pulling and digging the "creep" out of her scaled down
veg. garden and planting a few annuals in her island garden in her front
yard. Thank goodness for the perennials that fill in the center and are
dependable enough to come back every year. She also has several roses
and azaleas in that bed. Mother's first name is Maxine and she lurks on
this list but I have never seen one of her posts.
Marge, I chuckled over you tasting the chick weed and considering using
it as a salad. You have great posts. I subscribe to Juno and therefore
cannot URL or retrieve your articles altho I surely wish I could, I feel
sure I could learn and enjoy them all.
