How about Cerinthe Major purpurascens? This is an annual not a perennial
but perhaps we can include it because it is supposed to self seed fairly
freely. I've seen it in several gardens just recently and it has fleshy,
blue-green leaves that as they work up the stem change to purple. The
flowers at the top are a dark purple-blue in colour. So in one plant,
there are the colour of Craig's wife's eyes and her favourite colour. I
think it's stunning and intend trying it next year.
