also keep in mind that oriental lilies are inherently not very long-lived.
I belong to a lily forum and this is the lament of even the professionals.
To keep a favorite lily in the garden, they will scale the bulb upon
receipt to propagate it in case it does not survive past the first year.
After that, the lily will produce small bulbils and you can
increase/replace your stock as needed from these.
