Hi,
I planted 3 bare root Asclepias tuberosa last fall and this is
the first time growing this species. I know that they are late to break
dormancy but they have not appeared above ground yet. I live in
Western MA zone 5 and am wondering if they still have hope or perhaps they did
not make it through winter, they are planted in sandy well drained soil
. Other late breaking plants such as hardy hibiscus and platycodon have
made their appearance above ground already. Just how late is butterfly
weed?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Jerry
