Well,, this was a plant I grew from seed, so it probably was a little slow
starting out. Then. I had it planted in fairly crummy soil, lots of clay
that got pretty hard and dry in the summer. The spot was also fairly shady.
What's different this year: Last summer I completely revamped the bed, dug
out lots of the clay, then added gypsum and tilled in about a foot of
compost. Then, when I replanted it, I put it in the other end of the bed,
which gets more sun. (I also made a few threats, or it could have been that
flower dance I did during the waxing moon...)
At any rate, I was really excited when it bloomed. I don't know whether to
expect any more blooms or not. Think I should deadhead it, or leave the
seed pod to develop?
