Re: perennials DIGEST V3 #146

Have you heard the adage about perennials:

First year sleep, 2nd year creep, 3rd year leap.  

I think that the first year the perennials are too busy setting down roots
to show a huge amount of growth - then, it seems to be magic.  I, too,
planted a lot of perennials that were in little 4" pots.  I thought I might
have to buy a lot more to fill in the space - now I wonder where I am going
to put them all.
