Dot - my first brug was bought in a 3" pot...the cutting was about 5" 
high......it grew to about 5'-6' high by that fall and gave a great blooming 
show.  Of course the frost and winter set it back....but by spring my brugs 
are up and running.  I have three that have been established for at least 
three years.....they are now taller than our cedar fence.  Hang in 
there....each year your brug will grow a little faster.
