I agree with Kemberly in TX. The bigger the cutting, the faster it grows
over time. My two biggest trees are roughly 7' tall in the pots. I'll
have to prune them this year to get them in the house come fall.

do you take off the leaves growing on the trunks or leave them? I've seen
pictures of the trees both ways. I like the look of bare stems, but when I
did that last year it seems like they faltered (although it could've been
the weather -- it was hot and dry last summer). In addition, is there
anyway to prune these to encourage branching? I have one that got clipped
in half (we won't discuss that particular incident) and now I'm stuck with
a stick in a pot.
