I too am guilty of your kind of common sense. You could go ahead and put
your brug in the ground now and just make sure you get yourself a good size
cutting before the 1st frost comes. Remember - you can root a large cutting
(3-4 foot)...just put into a pot and keep in a protected area and if you
loose the guy in the ground you will have a new one to start all over with
the next spring.
