Susan:
I concur also...last January I spoke to someone at Milaeger's about the
difficulties of
sitting at one's dining room table, surrounded by catalogs, reference
material, desk
pads of paper, pencils (with twice as many erasers) while the computer is in
another room. I also pointed out that GardenNet doesn't offer a lean,
no-frills, info-packed catalog-style list of available perennials to print
out (and I also spoke to Garden.Net about this). My logic didn't make a dent.
Perhaps this is a case of growing pains and with time it will resolve itself,
but in the interim, e-mail to Milaeger's can't hurt and may hurry the process
- after all, one would think they'd like the direct feedback on their new
venue. If it were better to order over the internet, we'd be doing it, but
everyone I've talked to has said it's a dismally long and frustrating process
and they simply order from another grower with a catalog.
Sorry to be so windy, but this hit a nerve. For 6 weeks starting each
January, I plant
myself at the d.r. table and plan revisions and additions to the garden beds.
Thank goodness I had a previous Milaeger's catalog at hand, and boy, is it
tattered now. What are some solutions others have beside a barrage of e-mail
to Milaeger's, and to other growers following the same road?
Does anyone think we're just fighting an uphill, no-win battle and resisting
change which is inevitable?
Joanie
