Nan - the love-in-the-mist pop up in the fall and bloom sometime between
February and now.....set seed then go bye bye. I'm always pleased when I see
them again the next spring.......the evolution of the garden---it is amazing
and instead of it taking millions of years it simply occurs during one
growing season. Gotta love it.
I bet you can grow delphiniums where you are--is there a large choice of
succulents there in S. Cal? I love those plants, can't grow them in full sun
here but they do well in a shady location, the color they offer amazes me and
I'm always pleased when I am fortunate to find a bloom or two. The reason I
ask about the succulents is that when I watch the Victory Garden the Smaus
guy seems to always be in a California garden and the gardeners seem to
always have a beautiful collection.
