I live here in south central Missouri, zone 6, and I have this same
primrose in my garden. I love it and yes, it does spread rampantly, however,
I just pull it out with the rest of the weeds and keep it contained in one
3' x 4' area. It takes some policeing but seems to work and is worth it to
me as it is so beautiful when it is blooming. It is one of the most noticed
part of my garden when visitors come. Everyone wants some and of course I am
always ready to accommodate them but also always give them a warning. This
plant is invasive.
