Marie,
Your monarda will rebloom a little later. In fact, it's recommended by
some folks to pinch back this plant for a longer bloom time. I pinch back
the front stems of a clump. When the back stems are finishing their bloom,
the front stems are beginning. It looks like the plant is blooming for a
longer period of time. Keeps color in the garden longer and for some
reason the plant stays green longer and doesn't succumb to mildew and
ratty-looking leaves.
Consider your pinching an experiment and record the outcome. You may start
doing this on a regular basis from here out.
