Re: HELP

Marie -

I'm not sure what insect that is but I can tell you that I've had a terrible
problem with mealy bugs (white fuzzy bugs) and aphids.....I'm not completely
opposed to using pesticides but prefer to resort to those last.

I've now tried something my mom-n-law has suggested....I've been putting a
cup of dish soap into a 2 gal bucket of water and using the hyphonex syphon
and spraying down my garden (ratio 15:1) It is my understanding that this
will not kill the adult bugs but they no longer like to be on that "washed
down" plant and they will not reproduce. As these bugs usually have a short
life span, I will "wash" my garden every four days for 3 weeks. I've already
done the "wash" three times and have seen a huge difference.

As far as identifying your bugs....I had the same problem, I ended up at the
library and checked out a Texas "Critter's" book....it was very helpful.
Your local library might have a book of "critters" for your area. I have
sense found some of these books at the used book store.

Good luck......and remember, out in the wild these bugs exist and I believe
nature has a way of mending this problem...but every-now-and-again we have to
give nature a little help. Don't worry about you bed plants...they will
survive this mishap and come back twice as strong.
