Hello Colin,
The only reason I can think of with regard to having trouble with Cowslips
is if the soil were to be too fertile. Am I right in saying that they
prefer a poor soil? I have them growing in partial shade in part of a bed
that I have not added anything to for some time. I also have our native
primrose growing with it. The Cowslip self-seeds prolifically for me.
