Primulas

Attending to the plant table at local Hardy plant talk (Modern Garden design 
by Noel Kingsbury- excellent) got into a discussion with a lady wishing to 
buy Primula florindae, she was enquiring if I knew any reason why she has 
trouble growing Cowslips (is that primula veris?) even though she has 
primroses (p.vulgaris?) naturalising, and apparently visa-versa. I can't 
think of anything, and I don't recall seeing them growing together either, 
does anyone have any views?
