Sweet potato tubers (Was: Re: Hollyhocks and other things)

I planted one large container this spring with a purple leafed sage, two
dwarf native rudbeckias, and ONE chartreuse colored ornamental sweet
potato.  The thing grew like Topsy and has raised the entire soil ball up
out of the pot about two inches.  It's now impossible to water from above,
since the water just runs off.   I suspect when I empty the pot (which I
has not planned on doing since the sage and rudbeckias are both perennials)
I will find it full of tubers...
