Re: Asparagus Fern

Yes, very funny!  I love Asparagus Fern. I've never observed the thorns which you speak of, but I love the dark purple shiney berries it gets on it this time of year.  I've never tried it, but might this plant do ok inside by a bright sunny window for the duration of winter?  It tends to like the shade of my patio here in the desert, right along side the houseplants that I grow outdoors -- wandering jew, spider plant, etc.

All mine are in containers...maybe that is why they don't spread rampant in my garden ;)  How old or big is it before it gets thorns?  Mine are about 3 years old.

Export it to southern California to join all its sister and brother
tubers in taking over my garden  ;  }

Sorry for being sarcastic but that stuff is just a pest around here

Funny how one person's treasured plant is anothers hated pest
