Gene,
The annual blue lobelias, which do so well in shade, with wonderful blue
shades could sneak into your perennial definition as they seed around and
return with no effort from you. The self seeded plants bloom later on in the
season and are very hardy withstanding light frosts. Some of foliage is
slighly purple so it is a good looking plant though not very high in group of
taller plants.
