Hello Kemberly,
Took a bit to get around to checking out the photo.... What you have a
photo of is different than what we have here. The kale in your photo is
looks like large crinkly ruffled leaves on a stalk... darn nice. But ours
are like giant rosettes or loose cabbages. Some *is* ornamental cabbage,
some looks like a cross between cabbage and kale. JoAn raised these from
seed this year, so I will have to ask her more about them. All I know is
continual complaining she did while growing them. They require constant
attention to keep the bugs and worms off of them and frequent fertilizing.
Next year she will probably just purchase some locally, I am betting.
Waiting now for our first snow to settle on them.....
