Well that makes sense, this is their second year, and I'm sure they were
only 3-4' last year. And good luck seeding around, I don't have much bare
dirt! (see pic)I have them near a big hosta that turns golden yellow( though
a paler version) and it looks quite nice. This year I'm just delighted with
all the fall color I have--mostly in shrubs which is OT here I suppose.
This list used to be so active, now it's a sleepy little thing!

The sunflowers will get higher next year. The bigger the root system the
taller the plants. The birds like the seeds but do drop some and then more
plants. They are easy to pull up but the late flowers are nice in the
garden.
