Re: Chilling daffodils

I know one daffodil grower who grows for exhibition who swears by a 2-week
chilling of bulbs. He says it does increase both size and substance. Those
of us who order daffodil cultivars from England and Northern Ireland
sometimes pre-chill to help bring the bloom time closer to normal. These
bulbs will bloom 1-2 weeks later here than they do in the UK the first year.
Usually by the second year they have settled into our climate.

If you are forcing daffodils, there are chilling requirements too.
