Landscape design
Hi All:
I hope this is not off topic - I have just received my landscape design
blue print and there are two perennials that I would like to find
replacements for. One is Ceanothus "Concha" which is short lived I read
and have lost quite a few on our Adopt A Highway project so would like
to substitute something else. Plans call for a total of 12 plants. The
other is Nerium "Oleander". In California, Oleander is used as a great
freeway plant but really would like to use something else.
I live in zone 9, Norther California, Hot Summers and mild winters -
rarily below 30'. I live in the country so I have lots of deer, but
there are so many grape vines they rarely bother anything but my roses.
Soil is clay but fairly good drainage as most of my property is on a
down slope.
Other plants used are: English Lavender (15) Cotinus coggygria "Royal
Purple"(4) Grevillea (Camberra) (5) Rosmarinus officinalis "Tuscan Blue"
11) Dodonaea Viscosa "Purpurea" (5) Colconema pulchrum "Sunset" (8)
Liquidambar styraciflua (Burgundy)(2) and (Palo Alto)(2) Lagerstroemia
indica "Glendora White" (3) Rosa Banksiae "Lutea" (Yellow) (3).
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I was able to look all of these plants up in the Plant Encyclopedia
URL provided by Marge Talt. Thank you so much.
