Hi,

Have had my Lavender (Dwarf Munstead) for two years. Best advice from
local
head gardener at Ornamental Gardens is to cut back after bloom to keep a
compact plant.
I did that this year and have had 3 to 4 inches growth since (two
months). Pruned last year
(not as much as I should have) and it flowered this year well.

I prune mine each year 25 to 30 percent to keep from sprawling. Planted
in semi shade under
an English Walnut. Does better than the crab grass below. Have found that
if I prune too
severely it will not produce as many flowers the following year.
I'm also in zone 5-6.

P.S. Produced a weekly garden show with host from Ornamental Gardens.
Boy sure learned
a lot.
