Thanks so much for all the info about digitalis/foxglove. One of our local
nurseries had all the remaining perennials at half price recently and one I
bought was just called 'perennial foxglove'. I really love heirloom/old
fashioned plants and we were in the process of expanding the perennial bed
for the 3rd. time ;-)...running out of room!! I also ordered a hardy
geranium called 'John Elsey' from Wayside Gardens that arrived yesterday
and is now in the ground. The flowers are a carmine pink. I wanted to get
some cultivators from Herronswood, but they were sold out of most of theirs
until next spring. The lady I talked with there said that to get the ones
you want you must call in January for March shipment, in other words right
after you get their catalog! Herronswood has so many more hardy geranium
cultivators than anywhere around here.
